ABOUT SHIBARI

Shibari, as I practice and teach it, is far more than just an art of rope tying—it’s a deeply transformative and meditative practice that explores trust, connection, and self-expression.
Rooted in Japanese tradition, shibari uses ropes as a medium to create not just intricate patterns on the body, but also emotional and energetic bonds between people. For me, shibari is about presence and intention. It’s a dance of give and take, where both the one tying and the one being tied can explore vulnerability, trust, and surrender in a safe and respectful environment. It invites you to slow down, listen deeply—to yourself and to your partner—and be fully present in the moment.
Shibari has the power to unlock emotions, release tension, and create profound states of relaxation and flow. Whether you are being tied or tying someone else, the practice can become a mirror, reflecting back emotions, patterns, and energies that may have been hidden beneath the surface.
Together with my partner Jessica Jansson we teach Shibari workshops under the name Conscious Shibari. In our sessions and lessons, we focus on both the technical and the emotional aspects of shibari. We emphasize safety, consent, and communication as the foundation for every interaction. Whether you are new to shibari or seeking to refine your skills, we create a supportive space where you can explore this practice at your own pace, without judgment or pressure.
Shibari has been one of the most grounding and creative practices in my life, offering a unique blend of art, connection, and self-awareness. It’s not just about the ropes—it’s about the journey, the emotions, and the presence you bring to the experience. For me, shibari is a way to connect deeply, not just with others, but with yourself.
